Armenian law enforcement officials say that on September 30 they confiscated 3.5 grams of a “cocaine-like substance” from a suitcase belonging to a Guatemala citizen who had just touched down in Yerevan’s Zvartnots Airport from Dubai.
According to a statement released by State Revenue Committee, the woman started her journey from San Paolo, in Brazil, where she obtained the drugs.
The woman was supposed to hand over the drugs to a person she was to meet at a Yerevan hotel.
On October 3, Yerevan police arrested a citizen of Kazakhstan who had arrived in Yerevan on a flight from Turkey.
Police say she was preparing to meet with the Guatemalan, take possession of the drugs, and take them back to Turkey.
